Healthy pets and farm animals with homeopathy
June 19, 2006
While homeopathic remedies are always
tested on humans and not on animals, pet owners, farmers, and veterinarians
have found that homeopathic remedies are effective for all types and sizes
of animals. In homeopathy, what a person says often is vital for determining
the correct remedy. This is true with animals, too, except that how they
say it requires very careful observation, the same kind of observation you
would make with a very young child.
The usual physical symptoms such
as fever, diarrhea, vomiting, etc., can be observed, but mental symptoms
such as fear, anger, etc., are also used. If your pet is normally a bit standoffish,
but now is following you around the house wanting attention, this could be
interpreted as the symptom "desires company." A sudden friendliness does
not necessarily mean an illness is underway, but if there is also a thick
yellow discharge from they eyes, the homeopathic remedy Pulsatilla,
clearly covers both symptoms.
Using homeopathy with animals could
be that simple, or it could be difficult, requiring that a veterinarian formulate
remedies for unusual problems. Farmers and veterinarians find it possible
to treat systemic herd problems successfully, as well as treating otherwise
baffling illnesses that non-homeopathic remedies have not been successful
in treating.
Homeopathic health care books for
animals, and addresses of homeopathic veterinarians are available through
the National Center for Homeopathy.
